MAIN EVENT TUXEDO is a modern, elegant, full service formalwear store that thrives on producing a look and fit that is truly the finest in the industry. We are small enough to give your event personal attention and a custom fit every time. Yet we are big enough to offer you all top designer tuxedos and accessories in the latest styles. We rely on reputation and word of mouth for much of our business (see TESTIMONIALS). A hassle-free, enjoyable experience is what you’ll find, and it’s worth the trip. The owner and operator, Peter Russo, grew up in his father’s tailor shop and has been in the formalwear industry for over 15 years. His attention, service and commitment to the customer are unbeatable. Customers always leave wearing the appropriate tuxedo for their specific function. And when it all fits properly, the event is sure to be a success!The best part of our service is the final fitting, which is done piece by piece so it all fits the customer perfectly. Since all work is done on the premises, any alterations will be conducted immediately while you wait! Our store includes many other services, all part of a “one price system.” The price is upfront and the same for everyone no matter what style, you choose.Simple things such as studs and cufflinks to dress up a shirt, or suspenders to hold up your pants are important to complete a tuxedo. Because so many customers are repeaters or referred to us, it has always been important to have a consistent price. Since there is no additional charge for add-ons, everyone involved can concentrate on picking the right tuxedo for their specific type of event. FORMAL TIPS:

...From the owner.…I want a convenient location, not a franchise or a chain. They have poor quality control because they use their inventory in so many different stores.…I want a formalwear specialist. Preferably a custom shop with a custom tailor, and a wide selection of In-Stock Formalwear.…I would walk out if the store looks dirty or the mannequins are not fit properly. A sure sign of poor management!…I want options that are appropriate for my specific type of event presented to me by an expert. We’ve all seen them – someone let them pick those hideous outfits out! Please don’t let me look like a fool in the wrong outfit!…I want to try things on as I pick them out. I could never order from a catalog!…I expect a tuxedo rental to come with all necessary pieces. Never pay extra for shoes, vest, or accessories! I don't expect to pay extra for brakes on my rental car!…I need to pick up my tuxedo a few days ahead of time. I’m sure I’ll be too busy the day of the event to be worrying about that!…I want my tuxedo to fit me properly. Someone should be a tailor and know how to fit. Is this too much to ASK?...I recommend all out of state customers use our measurement form!…I wear suspenders always. No one ever sees them but they keep my pants up, my shirt down, and when your pants hang properly you look and feel like a million bucks! …I never wear my coat until I get to the event. At least not in the car. Once I’m at an event, I never take my coat off!…I am very careful with all buttons on vest, coat or shirt. Sometimes if I get them caught on table or bar they can rip or pop off.…I would pin a safety pin or two inside one of my inside pockets for any emergencies at the event. Even it it’s not yours, you would be the hero!…I would only wear thick black cotton socks with the rental shoe. This absorbs sweat and cushions the shoe so I can dance all night!…Before I walk in a room I make sure my coat is on straight, my vest is centered, and my fly is up!

Style, what is style?Style comes first from confidence! Simply – if you look good, you have style. We can teach everyone how best to wear a tuxedo. We can fit anyone, big or small, perfectly from head to toe. We can give you the confidence that your outfit is appropriate, in style and fits you like a glove.Our inventory is made up of only top designers. When choosing a tuxedo that’s right for your specific type of event, you must first decide on what style you want, not just a look. Here are some fundamental looks.1. Classic Conservative. Worn by presidents, considered very upscale. Black bowtie and vest, peak lapel, one button coat, and a laydown collared shirt. Awesome. Another example, the most conservative tuxedo and definitely the fanciest would be the Costume Ball. Full dress tails, white bowtie and vest, stiff wing collar. Fred Astaire danced in it. Pavorotti sang in it. Many grooms get married in it. If worn properly, attitude included, it can be a blast and makes for great pictures.2. Traditional, or the so-called basic. Sometimes referred to as the “James Bond” look. This is anything considered conservative yet modern. Usually this is easiest look to wear, very simple and not a big statement at first glance. But when fit properly it is the most complimenting to a good build and personality. 3. Modern Contemporary outfits seem to be where it’s at. Youth is usually a prerequisite. Keep an open mind and plan to spend plenty of time going through these options. Don’t go too trendy but let your spirit shine! This look is seen on many different types of entertainers and sports figures. Contrast in accessories and creative coats are all part of this look.4. Modern Conservative. It almost sounds like a paradox but this is definitely a winner! Still many options and can be used for a variety of different types of events. Almost runway style yet very comfortable, an easy to carry on all types of people.Remember! Most important, whatever you pick out our custom tailors will fit you properly.
